Insta Week x 2

Hello gorgeous friends,I hope that you all are having a fantastic weekend. Mine isn't too bad. We spent our weekend indoors because it is a scorcher out there. Yesterday, it was a high of 105, but today it won't be as horrible only in the mid nineties today. So maybe we will venture outside. Since we stayed inside yesterday we didn't go to the Arts and Crafts festival like I was hoping for, but I did get a lot of laundry done. haha. Woo, nothing says fun like a large load of freshly washed laundry. This weeks Insta Week is going to be 2 weeks in one, since that awful storm ruined last weeks post. Enjoy.

11 Things About Me:

1. I have a twin sister named Dominique. We are mirror twins in every aspect. Pretty much like night and day. I'm the girly girl and she is the tom-boy (maybe its because she was always the one dressed in pink when we were little.) We are the best of friends now, but it wasn't always so. 
2. I am a huge dreamer. I have so many aspirations that I tend to get lost in them. The biggest aspiration that I have is opening up a sort of rec-center for local teens- a place where they can come and hang out, study, make art, make music, and be themselves. The place would be an art studio/venue/lounge/refuge. It would be a place where we could give back to the community. I really would love to do this.
3. I have 5 tattoos right now, but I want many more. My favorite is the owl that I have on my upper thigh, which is a current work in progress. I would love to get a half sleeve of flowers and teapots. I love old school tattoos and I plan on getting a matching tattoo with my twinnie.
4. I have lived in 6 different states within a couple years. Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Utah. I grew up in Ohio. Had an apartment right across the river in West Virginia. Moved to North Carolina for a few months. Went to Maryland to work for a few short months. Followed a boy to Oklahoma. Moved back to Ohio after said boy and I broke up. Met my husband, married him, and moved to Utah. Then, I missed my family like crazy so we moved back to Ohio.
5. My favorite soda is Diet Dr. Peper.
6. I am left-handed when it comes to writing and eating, but everything else I do right-handed.
7. I love to sing. I was in choir all throughout school. I once was the youngest member in my childhood church's choir. I sing in the shower, the car, and to entertain my little mister- but, I won't get up and do karaoke. 
8. I love to travel and I miss the road trips that I used to take. We plan on driving to Puerto Penasco at the end of August for my brother-in-law's wedding. I can't wait! I just hope that our money situation works out.
9. I love to crochet, but I can never seem to finish a project. I have an afghan that I am working on and I am growing bored with it. 
10. My favorite alcoholic beverage is margaritas! It's pretty much the way to my heart. When my in-laws came to visit in April they brought us 4 bottles of the good tequila from Mexico. It is delicious! And once we go back to Guadalajara I intend to ride the tequila train.
11. I love the small town life, but I wish we had the big city culture. Does that make sense? Probably not, but it does in my head.

Emily's 11 Questions

1. Do you have any nicknames? Believe it or not, no. My parent's tried to call me Dano, but that didn't stick. It's always been Danielle. Exciting-right? haha. However, my husband does call me baby. ha.
2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? hmm..coffee. I love coffee flavored ice cream, but I'm not a huge fan of coffee. Pretty strange.3. What is your favorite animal? I love owls, I think they are so interesting. But, they aren't my choice of pet. I love dogs. I have two pitbull mixes that I adore.4. If you could choose three words to describe yourself, what would they be? Compassionate. Goofy. Dreamer.5. What do you do? (School, work, own your own business, ect.) I am CEO of Leal Inc. aka  Stay At Home Mom.6. What is the youngest age you can remember back to? Gosh, I'm not sure. Maybe 3 or 4, but who knows if those memories have been influenced by home videos. haha.7. Are you married/have kids? I am married and have two little ones. Evangelina just turned 4 and Emery is 4 months in 3 days. Evangelina is my little terror and Emery is my little mister. I am truly blessed with two fantastic kids. 8. Do you dream? What are they like? i do dream. Most of my dreams are strange and sometimes they are about zombies. Those are pretty interesting. My favorite dreams are the ones where I wake up laughing out loud. haha.9. How many songs do you have on your iPod/phone/MP3 player? Maybe 200. I don't know. I've limited myself, because normally I just listen to I Heart Radio.10. What's your favorite thing to wear? I am a huge dress fanatic! I love dresses. I just love being girly. haha.11. If you could do anything in the world right now, (no money worries), what would it be? I would head out west with the family. Hitting Utah, Vegas, and San Diego. We are in desperate need of a vacation and in need of family time.

Flashback Friday-Victory Rolls

I am a huge fan the retro pinup style. I absolutely love the soft curls, victory rolls and the make-up. The style was so much fun and so different for the area I live in. I really miss wearing my hair like this. I am beginning to think that it is time that I start wearing the rolls again. Maybe I will play around with my hair this weekend.

Thursday's Thoughts

• I am going through some severe little terror withdraw. I cannot wait until my beautiful girl comes back home from the beach tomorrow. Its been so quiet in the house without her.
• I am super excited about going to the Arts & Crafts festival with the family this weekend. The only down fall is that it's supposed to be a high of 102 and a chance of thunder storms. My hope is that the rain today will cool things down for the weekend.
• I have been feeling a little lost lately. I have been feeling a bit neglected in the friend department and I terribly miss our craft days. I'm know that everyone is all busy with their summer, but its been this way for the last year or so and its getting old.
• I have been thinking about beauty school a lot lately and I really hope that within the next year or so I can make the leap and tackle my dream. It has been something I've been wanting to do for some time and I just need to do it.
• I really wish money grew on trees, well at least for a little while. Long enough for us to buy our own place, pay off the car, go on a nice vacation, and put myself through beauty school. Oh if only it were that simple. 
• I can't believe my little man rolled over yesterday! He's growing up so fast!! I absolutely hate it. I just want to keep him a baby just a bit longer. 
• The husband and I made a deal that for every 15 lbs I lose I can get a tattoo. I have been talking to him about getting a sleeve or a piece on my calve for a while now. I am trying to lose weight to feel better no because I feel like I look bad. I just know that if I lose a few pounds that I will feel much better and so his bit of motivation is doing wonders. Now, I just need to figure out what I want to get done. I have a few ideas, but I'm having a hard time making up my mind.

Tuesday's Tunes

Good morning lovelies!I hope that you all are doing well and that you all had a great start to your week! My week couldn't have started any better! However, I am missing my little terror because she left for the beach yesterday with my mom, but she will be back soon enough. 
One thing that I love about summer is laying outside and listening to good tunes. One tune that makes me immediately think of summer is Don McLean's American Pie. This song brings back so many memories and almost all of them include my dad, sister and cousins because this was our go to song for road trips.We listened to it so much that we made up a dance to it. haha Such a great tune! I heard it this past weekend while listening to the local station waiting for news about the storm damage and I haven't been able to get it out of my head.

Mani Monday.

Hello lovelies! How was your weekend? Mine was spent in the sweltering heat without any electricity. We had a crazy-ass storm roll through Friday evening. Its said that it was the equivalent of a hurricane. My family and I were lucky to get our electric back on early Sunday morning. My mom is still without electric and they are saying that it might be up to a couple weeks until it comes back on. I feel so awful for them, but luckily they are going to be at the beach this week for my step-sister's wedding (which I wasn't invited to-yeah I'm just a tad sore about that.) 
Well, I am so happy to be back online! And I'm just in time to show off my nails and to show off a few nails that I am loving.
